These terms are the agreement between you and Saffary Technologies, trading as Webbefy, for your use of Webbefy. By creating an account you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use Webbefy.
1. Who we are
Webbefy is an AI website builder and host operated by Saffary Technologies, trading as Webbefy, a company registered in South Africa.
- Company
- Saffary Technologies
- Trading as
- Webbefy

2. Who can use Webbefy
You must be 18 or older and authorised to act for the business you describe to us. If you accept these terms for a company or other organisation, you confirm that you can bind it, and "you" in these terms includes it.
Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what is done through your account, so tell us at our support email address straight away if you think someone else has used it.
3. What Webbefy does
You give us facts about your business, such as its name, what it does, its contact details and opening hours, and optionally a logo and photos. We use AI to draft a content brief from those facts, you review the brief, and we generate a website from it. You can preview what we generate before you decide whether to publish it.
Publishing puts your website online at an address of your choice on our domain, and you can connect a domain you own. Publishing starts a monthly hosting subscription for that site (section 6).
AI-generated content can be wrong. Check everything before it goes live, including facts about your business, prices, contact details and any claims the copy makes. You are responsible for what your published website says.
4. Fees and payment
All prices are in South African rand. We are not registered for VAT, so no VAT is added to our prices and our invoices do not show any.
PayFast processes our payments. You enter your card or bank details on PayFast's own pages, and they never reach our servers. PayFast gives us a token for the card you pay with, and we use it only for the charges these terms describe. You can download an invoice for every payment from your profile.
5. Generation credits
Generating a website uses one credit. Every account includes 1 free credit. Drafting and editing your brief does not use a credit, but you need one available to start.
You can buy more credits in bundles:
- 1 credit for R20.00
- 5 credits for R80.00
- 10 credits for R160.00
Credits do not expire while your account is open. If a generation fails because of a problem on our side, the credit comes back to your balance automatically. The only exception is the daily cap on returned credits described below: an attempt that was already running when your account reached that cap keeps its credit. If it fails because of what the request asked for, for example more content than a website can hold, or because the model declines it, the credit is used. To keep the service available for everyone, we limit how many websites you can generate each day, and we cap how many credits we return automatically each day. If a day's returns are used up, new generations wait until that limit resets at midnight UTC.
6. Hosting subscription
Hosting a published website costs R499.00 a month per site. Connecting a domain you own costs nothing extra.
Your subscription renews monthly until you cancel it, and there is no minimum term. Each month we charge the card you paid with, through PayFast.
If we change our prices, the new prices apply to new subscriptions. We will email you at least 30 days before any change to the price of a subscription you already have.
7. Cooling-off and refunds
Section 44 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 gives you 7 days to cancel something you buy online. This is how it applies to Webbefy.
- Credits. You can ask for a refund of unused credits within 7 days of buying them. Email our support email address and we will refund the unused part of that purchase within 30 days of your request. Credits you have already used are not refundable, because the generation was performed at your request.
- Hosting. Your website goes live straight away when you publish it, at your request. The service has then begun, so the 7-day cooling-off period ends once your site is live.
Apart from this, and any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, payments are not refundable.
8. Failed payments and the grace period
If a monthly payment fails, your site stays online for 7 days while you sort it out, and we email you to say the payment failed. If the payment is still outstanding when that grace period ends, we take the site offline and email you again. It stays offline until the payment is made. Taking a site offline does not delete it.
9. Cancelling a subscription
You can cancel a site's subscription at any time from your account. Your site stays live until the end of the period you have already paid for, then goes offline, and no further payments are taken. We do not refund the rest of a period you have paid for.
10. Closing your account
There is no button to delete your account. To close it, email our support email address from the address you signed up with. We will cancel any active subscriptions, take your sites offline and close the account, then delete or de-identify your personal information within 30 days. We keep only what the law requires: invoices and payment records, which the Tax Administration Act 28 of 2011 requires us to keep for 5 years.
We may suspend or close your account, or take a site offline, if you break these terms, if a payment is still outstanding after the grace period, or if the law requires it.
11. Your content and ours
You keep ownership of the facts, text, logo and photos you give us, and you confirm you have the right to use them. You allow us to use them to generate, host and show your website, and to pass them to the service providers in our privacy policy for that purpose.
While you keep to these terms, you may use the website we generate for your business, including its copy and layout, for that business. We keep all rights in Webbefy itself: the software, the generation process, the templates and the hosting platform.
Generated content is written with a third-party AI model. We cannot promise it is free of other people's rights, so review it as you would any copy you publish.
12. Your visitors' personal information
When a website we host for you collects personal information about its visitors, you are the responsible party for that information under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA), and we are your operator under section 21. This section is the written agreement between us that section 21 requires. It covers:
- enquiries sent through your website's contact form, which usually hold a name, email address, phone number and message; and
- the visitor statistics described in section 5 of our privacy policy.
As your operator, we:
- process that information only to provide these features to you: storing enquiries and emailing them to you, and counting visits to show you statistics;
- keep it confidential, and never use it for our own purposes;
- keep it secure with reasonable technical and organisational measures;
- tell you without undue delay, and within 72 hours where we can, if we suspect it has been accessed or acquired by someone without authority;
- use only the sub-operators listed in section 7 of our privacy policy;
- keep enquiries for 24 months and then delete them, and keep statistics only for the periods our privacy policy states; and
- delete your sites' enquiries and statistics when you ask, once your account is closed.
You are responsible for having a lawful reason to collect this information and for telling your visitors about it in your own privacy notice. If your website shows a Google map, say so in that notice: the map loads from Google, which receives each visitor's IP address and may set cookies.
13. Acceptable use and abuse reports
You must not use Webbefy to:
- publish content that is unlawful, defamatory, fraudulent or hateful, or that infringes someone else's rights;
- impersonate a person or business you are not authorised to represent;
- upload images or content you do not have the right to use;
- get around credit limits or billing;
- interfere with, reverse engineer or try to gain unauthorised access to Webbefy or the systems it runs on; or
- send spam, or publish malware or phishing pages.
We suspend websites that break these terms. Where the harm is serious or ongoing we do so without a grace period, and we may also close the account behind them.
Report abuse: if a Webbefy website breaks these terms, email our support email address with its web address and what is wrong, and we will look into it.
14. Services we rely on
Webbefy runs on third-party services, including Supabase, Microsoft Azure, Cloudflare, Anthropic, Resend, PayFast and Google. Section 7 of our privacy policy lists what each one does and what it receives. We are not responsible for outages that start with one of these providers, but we will make reasonable efforts to restore service.
15. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
This section limits what we are responsible for, so please read it carefully.
- Webbefy and everything it generates are provided as they are. We do not promise that generated content is accurate, complete or right for your purpose, or that Webbefy will always be available and free of errors.
- We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost profit, lost business or lost data.
- If we are liable to you, our total liability for all claims is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the event that gave rise to the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for gross negligence or fraud, or for anything the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 or any other law does not allow us to limit.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will email you at least 30 days before a material change takes effect, and the date at the top of this page shows the current version. If you do not accept a change, you can close your account before it takes effect (section 10). If you keep using Webbefy after it takes effect, the updated terms apply.
17. Governing law
South African law governs these terms, and the South African courts have jurisdiction over any dispute about them.
