Small business website design, without the designer
Most small business owners in South Africa need the same thing from a website: show what you do, where you work and when you are open, then make it easy to call, WhatsApp or send an enquiry. A designer will build that for a once-off fee, then charge again for every change. webbefy builds it from the facts you type in, in a few minutes, and keeps it up to date when your details change.
What your customers look for
What they check before they get in touch
Is this a real business?
People look for your name, your address or service area and a way to reach you before they get in touch. webbefy builds every page around the facts you give it, so what they read is accurate.
What exactly do you do?
List your services in plain words and the site turns them into clear sections. No filler and no services you do not offer.
Are you open, and do you reach me?
Your opening hours and the areas you serve appear on the site, and a map shows where to find you if customers come to you.
How do I get hold of you?
A contact form sends enquiries straight to your email, and a WhatsApp button opens a chat with you in one tap, for customers who would rather message than call.
What to have ready
This is enough for a full first draft. Anything you do not have yet can be added later, and the site updates when you do.
- Your business name, phone number, WhatsApp number and email address
- The services or products you offer, in your own words
- The areas you serve, or your address if customers come to you
- Your opening hours
- Your logo and a few photos of your work, if you have them
Common questions
How is this different from hiring a website designer?
A designer quotes once-off for the build, usually after a few rounds of back and forth, and charges again for changes. webbefy drafts the whole site in minutes from your details, you preview it before paying, and changing a detail later updates the live site. A designer is still the better choice if you need a custom layout, an online store or bookings.
Can I sell products or take bookings on the site?
No. The site is for getting found and getting in touch: what you do, your photos, your hours and a way to reach you. If you need to sell online or take bookings, a builder with a store or an agency suits you better.
Will my site look the same as every other webbefy site?
No. Each design is generated for your business from your facts, colours and photos, and you can generate other designs and choose the one you like.
How much does it cost?
Your first design is free. Extra designs are R20 each. Publishing costs R499 a month per site, which includes hosting and a free webbefy.site address. There is no minimum term. You can cancel at any time, and your site stays live until the end of the month you have paid for.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes. Every site goes live on a free webbefy.site address, and you can connect a domain you already own at no extra cost.
Do I need to know anything about websites?
No. You answer questions about your business in plain language, preview the whole site, and publish when you are happy with it. There is no design or code to deal with.
Can I change my details later?
Yes. Update your phone number, hours or address and your published site updates with them. You can also generate a completely new design and keep the one you have.
Will the site make things up about my business?
No. It is written from the facts you give it, and it does not add reviews, awards, qualifications or clients you did not tell it about.
